Mr. B.C. Prabhakar is an eminent and senior Advocate specialized in Labour laws. He has been actively practicing before Labour Courts, Industrial Tribunals and the High Court of Karnataka for 50 years. He renders Legal Advice in the areas of Labour Laws, Employee Resource Management, Compensation & Benefits, ESOP’s Employment Contracts, Gender Sensitivity Issues, etc. He has expertise in dealing with Trade Unions, Wage Negotiations, handling Industrial Relations scenarios, etc. He is a Senior Management consultant in the areas of Legal Compliance under various Labour & Employment Legislations, Industrial Relations, Dispute Resolutions & Collective Bargaining.
Mr. Prabhakar is the President of Karnataka Employers’ Association, the first and leading Employers’ Association in the State of Karnataka. He has helped KEA earn high repute in Karnataka by representing the interest of Employers and has been a prime mover in providing proactive suggestions to the Central/State Governments in formulating Labour Policies and amendments to the Labour Legislations. He has effectively represented KEA before National and International Fora including ILO (International Labour Organization) both in India and abroad. He has the distinction of attending the Indian Labour Conference (ILC) for the past 12 years as advisor. He is the Employer Member of Minimum Wages Central Advisory Board and Board member of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).
Mr. Prabhakar is the Legal Advisor for over 150 reputed corporates including MNCs, Manufacturing companies and IT/ITES/BPO companies. He was on the Board of Directors of large companies like Wipro Ltd., 3M India Ltd. And continues to serve on the boards of Automotive Axels Ltd. and Page Industries (Jockey India) as Independent Director. He is a Professional Member of National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), National HRD Network, Bangalore Advocates Association, BCIC and FKCCI. Mr. Prabhakar holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Bachelor of Law from Mysore University.
C.K. Devappa Gowda
C.K.D GOWDA holds Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Degree in Bachelor of Law from University of Mysore and Bengaluru respectively. Holds a Diploma in Social Service Administration from National Institute of Social Science, Bengaluru. After completing studies had enrolled as a Advocate and practice in the Civil Code attached to the office of Senior at Shimoga. Thereafter switched over to for employment. Worked as Personnel officer in Chemicals and Textile Manufacturing Industries for about 5 years. Thereafter took up employment in one of the largest Public Sector Bank. Has worked in different parts of the country and has complete exposure to the cross country industrial relation scenario. The major part of his service was at corporate level overseeing and implementing HR policies and practices and management of Industrial relations from the corporate level. Has been a member of personnel committee of Indian Bank Association. After retirement from service has been working with the firm for the last 12 years. Has expertise in all areas of people management, drafting of documents relating to service matter including the settlements under the ID Act. Deals with all employment laws including appearance before the Courts, Tribunal and Authorities under the different Labour Laws.
K.G.Nagendra Prasad has been associated with the firm for the last 33 years. He holds B.Com Degree from University of Mysore and also LL.B from the same university. After completing his education, he was associated with Manufacturing Industry in management of Industrial Relations and Human Resources administration. He joined the office of BCP in the year 1983 and has specialized in Labour Laws. He has conducted several cases with regard to retrenchment, lay-off, closure, adjudication on charter of demands and other related matters of Industrial Relations. He is specialized in dealing with the litigations arising out of the management of discipline at the factories and establishments. He has rich experience in not only in management of Industrial Relation, HR practices but also Industrial Adjudication before different authorities under the Industrial Disputes Act, Labour Court, Industrial Tribunal, Central Government Industrial Tribunal, Civil Court and High Court. He has wide range of experience in dealing with Law relating to Social Security i.e., Employee’s Provident Fund, Employees State Insurance, Employees Compensation, Minimum Wages 8and Gratuity Cases.
LawyerC.K.Subramanya holds Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Degree in Bachelor of Law and Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from Bengaluru University. After passing B. Com Degree he joined the services of State Public Sector Industry, NGEF in the year 1970 and he took voluntary retirement in the year 1995. He held the Post of Industrial Relation Officer in NGEF. As an Industrial Relation Officer he was closely associated with HR Matters including Labour Disputes in various courts. He had very good exposure in the collective bargaining matters. He joined the office of Sri.B.C.Prabhakar in the year 1995 and has specialized in Labour Matters. He has 21 years’ experience in the office of Sri.B.C.Prabhakar. He enrolled as an Advocate in the year 1995. He has acquired specialization in Labour and Service matters. He has also appeared and argued number of cases before Dharwad and Kalburgi High Court Benches. He has mainly appeared before the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka at Bengaluru and argued number of matters pertaining to Labour and Service matters in all the discipline. He is also specialized in dealing with litigations arising out of Management of discipline at the Factories and Establishments. He has also acquired rich experience in Industrial Relations, HR practices.
S. Venugopal Rao
S Venugopal Rao holds Bachelor’s degree in Science from Karnataka University, Dharwar and Bachelor of Law from Bangalore University. He enrolled as advocate in Karantaka State Bar Council in 1976. He joined the chamber of Sri. Kolachalam Srinivasa Rao a leading advocate on the civil side. After practising for six and half years at Ballari on the civil side, he joined Orient Paper Mills (Pro. Orient Paper & Industries Ltd.) Brajarajnagar in Orissa (of G P Birla Group). He was Manager (Law) and was designated as Manager under the Factories Act in 1995 in the said paper mills. He worked in Orient Paper Mills from May 1982 to December 1999. He joined Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills Rajahmundry (Rajahmahendravaram) as Manager Legal and was elevated as Dy. General Manager (Legal).
As legal head he has handled important cases both in Labour and Civil and has experience in drafting and vetting Contracts, Agreements, Lease Agreement, Conveyance Deeds, , Affidavits and scrutiny of several legal and other documents, Preparing and settling Petitions, Appeals, Plaints, Written Statements, Rejoinders, Affidavits and Written Arguments etc. for submission/pleadings for various legal proceedings.
As Factory Manager in Orient Paper Mills and Legal head in Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills has monitored compliance of provisions of Factories Act and Rules there under with reference to safety, health and welfare. Compliance of various provisions under Pollutions and Environmental laws. He ensured compliance of various statutory provisions particularly Environmental Laws, Factories Act (Safety, Health and Welfare), Explosives Act, etc. as well as Sound knowledge in Environment Management System ISO 14001: 2004, Occupations, Health and Safety Series 18000:1999. A qualified auditor under OSHAS 18000 and has conducting audit of occupational safety and health assessment. As Legal head in APPM he has briefed and appeared along with Senior Advocate before Appellate Authority constituted under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act. He has participated in the seminar on Hazardous Waste Management and Handling conducted by FICCI and has represented the Paper industry in the committee constituted by AP Government for revision of Factory License Fee. He retired from the services of Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills in 2011.
